Appointments
Nuclera has announced the appointment of Seth Benson as its new chief financial officer, following the strengthening of its leadership team with three key appointments at the end of last year.
Benson brings extensive experience in building operational and financial infrastructure to the biotechnology company, which he joins after serving as chief financial officer at Vizgen.
Prior to Vizgen, Benson was senior vice president of finance and operations at Invaio Sciences and held multiple roles at Akoya Biosciences, culminating in his position as vice president of strategic finance and investor relations.
Benson also previously served in positions at Shields Health Solutions, Evergreen Health, Ameritox, Morgan Stanley and Bank of America Merril Lynch.
Commenting on the appointment, Nuclera’s co-founder and chief executive officer, Michael Chen, said: “We are pleased to welcome [Benson] to Nuclera at such a pivotal stage in our journey. His expertise in financial leadership and strategic planning within high-growth life sciences organisations will be instrumental as we accelerate the commercial rollout of our eProtein Discovery system."
Benson said: “I am delighted to join Nuclera, especially at such an exciting time for the company. Nuclera’s eProtein Discovery system addresses a critical bottleneck in protein production workflows, with the potential to significantly impact drug discovery.
“I look forward to working with [Chen] and the team to build on the company’s strong foundation and drive commercial growth.”
Nuclera was founded in 2013 as a University of Cambridge, UK, spin-out focusing on rapid protein prototyping.
