Sapio appoints Mike Hampton as chief commercial officer

Sapio Sciences, a provider of lab informatics solutions, has announced the appointment of Mike Hampton as chief commercial officer and unveiled its new scientific office.

Hampton brings more than two decades of industry experience to the role, which he takes on after most recently serving as chief revenue officer and president of field at Causaly.

Prior to this, Hampton held the position of vice president of global commercial and customer success at IDBS. He first joined the Danaher company in 2001 as a consultant, before progressing through the ranks and taking on roles such as senior director of professional services, Americas and head of global client engagement, and vice president of North America.

Hampton said: ‘Sapio is… setting the standard for artificial intelligence (AI)-driven lab informatics. I’m excited to join a team that shares my passion for helping our customers accelerate the entire drug development life cycle.”

Alongside Hampton’s appointment, Sapio has promoted Rob Brown to global vice president and head of its newly launched scientific office, which the company said ‘will focus on developing AI-powered, scientist-centric solutions that streamline workflows.’

Brown has most recently been serving as vice president of product and pre-sales, after joining Sapio as senior director of product marketing.

Sapio’s founder, chief executive officer and chief technology officer, Kevin Cramer, said: “With [Hampton] driving our commercial strategy and [Brown] shaping AI-powered innovation, we are scaling customer-led advancements and cementing Sapio as [a] leader in AI-native lab informatics.”
