Aseptic packaging company Steriline’s founder Gerardo Fumagalli has ‘passed the torch’ to his children Illaria Fumagalli and Federico Fumagalli, who have been appointed to chief executive officer and chief sales officer, respectively. Gerardo will continue on as chairman of the board of directors.

Illaria joined Steriline after graduating from the University of Milan, Italy and has since held multiple senior roles, most recently operations director. She commented: “I would like to thank the board for the confidence it has placed in me and all the people who have supported me in this challenging journey. I was a young woman when I joined the company and, in small steps, I gained skills and increasing responsibilities thanks to the example set by my father, who always proceeded with confidence and made courageous decisions as an entrepreneur. My goal now is to keep the flame burning, to maintain a dynamic company and make the changes that will spark new project launches tuned to the future, creating synergies that will lead to an innovative variation in our traditional values, with the help of modern governance bodies.”

Federico joined the company in 2001 and specialises in sales, marketing, market knowledge and the study of innovative projects to meet customers’ needs. He was most recently commercial director. Federico said, “My goal will be to expand the presence of Steriline on the market, focusing our commitment and investments in internationalisation, research, development and innovation, while remaining tied to the tradition and values of the family business.”
