Appointments
ViCentra, a company focused on its automated insulin delivery system, has announced the appointment of Tom Arnold as chief executive officer.
Arnold joins ViCentra with almost 25 years of extensive leadership experience in diabetes and medical technology, having most recently served as vice president of global marketing at PROCEPT BioRobotics.
Prior to this, Arnold was vice president of commercial strategy and enablement at Medtronic, after holding senior director positions at the company.
Over the course of his career, Arnold has also served as global business leader of tachycardia and heart failure and then senior director of strategic growth initiatives at Sorin Group, and held positions at Boston Scientific.
Beyond his professional background, Arnold has a firsthand experience of diabetes, with his daughter being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes as an infant.
Sharing his thoughts on his latest venture, Arnold said: “As both a medtech leader and a father, I understand the impact that well-designed, intuitive technology can have on diabetes management. Kaleido’s approach to making insulin therapy more flexible, discreet and empowering resonates deeply with me.
“I am honoured to lead ViCentra at such an exciting time to help drive meaningful progress for the diabetes community.”
Jan Keltjens, chairman of the board at ViCentra, added: “[Arnold’s] extensive experience in commercial strategy, his deep knowledge of the healthcare sector and personal connection to the diabetes community make him uniquely qualified to lead ViCentra into its next phase of growth."
